Najib Azad

Najib Azad is a politician, writer, columnist, researcher, analyst, lawyer, and lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. I’d like you to please read more about me below.

Najib Azad was born in Paktia, Afghanistan, in 1984. His parents were doctors in Kabul. In 1994, when the civil war was at its height, the Azad family migrated to Pakistan, where they lived for about ten years as refugees. Najib Azad is one of the many Afghan evacuees who resettled in the United States after the Taliban takeover in August 2021. He lives with his wife and four young children. Azad is a well-known face to those following Afghanistan in the news: he was the spokesman of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the former Afghan president, and a senior political and legal advisor to NAMSA/NATO in Afghanistan. He has also been a political, legal, and social analyst, commentator, and expert for various news organizations, including VOA, BBC, Al-Jazeera, India Times, WION, DW, WION, Radio Liberty, and others. Azad holds a BBA, MBA, MA, LL. B-LAW (JD) and LLM undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Besides his political and academic career, Azad has often been busy helping needy families. He had already established non-profit and charity organizations in Afghanistan, providing thousands of Afghans with food, shelter, medicines, clothes, and education. In 2022, when he started living in the USA, he established Focus Development Organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides food, clothes, shelter, health services, and education to tens of thousands of Afghans in need.
